Business Territory, by Lingonet, is a business English learning resource built around a collection of video interviews recorded in a Cambridge company. The programs expose students to authentic, idiomatic business English. The non-scripted language of the interviews offers a variety of authentic accents and prepares learners for communication in real-life business environments.

Business Territory has been developed in response to teachers asking for multimedia resources designed specifically for classroom and one-to-one use. The integrated activities cover around 20 hours of student work and the task-types include true-false comprehension, opinion-gap, ranking, gapfill, and language auditing. These activities encourage students to watch the interviews from a variety of perspectives and use their language for communicative purposes.

There are tasks to complete on the computer and also printable worksheets which are ideal for use where only a limited number of computers are available.

All the material in Business Territory is available via simple graphical menu screens. You can click a face to move to an interview with that person or click menu items to access job-related interviews, topical material, exercises or the teacher's guide.

Your students can therefore quickly find their way around and concentrate on language tasks. There is a variety of built-in language support, in the form of transcripts, paraphrases, audio comments, and a glossary. At the same time, Business Territory has been designed to promote active learning, so that students try to work things out for themselves before referring to the support material.
