H ex-Lex is a challenging and enjoyable way to learn and practise English words, phrases, and context-sensitive items with two virtual boardgames, Hex and Trix. Two players compete to take control of the game board, or a single player can use the program to improve their language and revise. It's competitive, addictive and enjoyable!

Games that can be played as Hex or Trix cover meaning, collocations, definitions, grammar, classification, sound and many other aspects of words and phrases, and often require skills of inference. Further, a different game is automatically generated every time, meaning virtually endless gameplay.

The program is fully authorable, so you can feed your own choice of words, phrases and sentences into the games - you can even write translation games in any language. There are over 100 different language games to play across three ability levels, and study sheets can be printed after the game.
