The
first thing that has to be said about Technology
is Context is that it includes an enormous amount
of useful material. The program is based around
six video features from the BBC's Tomorrow's World
series. These are on topics of general interest
such as identity parades, earthquakes and snoring.
The language is authentic, providing excellent
listening practice for higher level students, and
is exploited with a wide variety of (over 400)
comprehension, grammar, speaking and writing tasks.
Technology
in Context includes additional independent learning
resources including oral presentation practice,
extended writing tasks, links to related websites
and a range of language games.
The program
includes tracking of student activity, as well
as self-study and teacher's notes with
suggestions for preparation and follow-up activities.
Technology in Context is presented by the publishers primarily as a self-access
resource,
but could equally well be used to create useful and enjoyable lessons. |
